How to Apply Your Patches
Our patches feature a professional-grade, heat-activated adhesive. To ensure a permanent bond that won’t peel, please follow these steps:
-
Temperature: 280°F – 300°F (138°C – 149°C)
-
Time: 15–20 seconds
-
Pressure: Medium to Firm
Step-by-Step Instructions:
-
Pre-Heat (Important): Place your hat or garment in the press and apply heat for 5–8 seconds. This removes moisture and wrinkles, creating a smooth surface for the patch.
-
Position: Place your patch on the pre-heated area while it is still warm.
-
Protect: Cover the patch with a Teflon Sheet. This is thicker and more durable than parchment paper, providing better protection for the leatherette surface and more even heat distribution.
-
Press: Apply heat and firm pressure for the full 15–20 seconds.
-
Reverse Press (Optional): If the garment allows, flip it inside out and press from the back for 10 seconds to pull the adhesive deeper into the fabric.
-
Set: Let the patch cool completely before moving or wearing. The bond reaches maximum strength after 24 hours.
Pro-Tip: If you are using a hand iron, ensure you are on a flat, hard surface (not a padded ironing board) to get the necessary pressure. Use the "Cotton" setting and strictly no steam.
